First Iteration

My first goal was to make the poster instantly feel like a dark Valentine’s Day afterparty. I started with a large silver disco-ball heart as the main visual, then used a dark brown background and muted red typography to create a bold, moody atmosphere.

What I've done

  • Silver disco-ball heart as the focal point, tying Valentine to a club vibe.

  • Filled the layout with muted red typography for a bold, dense composition.

What I should improve

  • The visual hierarchy was weak, and event details had low readability.

  • Filled the layout with muted red typography for a bold, dense composition.

Final Poster

After restarting the poster, I focused on making the design not only visually appealing, but also clearer in hierarchy, stronger in focal point, and more polished in its dark Valentine club mood. I built this mood through a deep black background, strong red and silver accents, and dimensional visuals. The 3D-style cupid and large shiny red title became the main focal points, while the event details were placed smaller at the bottom to support a clear visual hierarchy.

What I've changed & accomplished

Placed the 3D silver cupid at the center to create a strong focal point.

Used shiny red 3D typography to add depth and visual impact.

Built a clear visual hierarchy so viewers first notice the main visual and “Club Night” title, then naturally move down to the event details.

Limited the palette to black, red, and silver to keep the design bold, focused, and consistent with the dark Valentine club theme.

Added a subtle low-opacity red dot pattern behind the cupid to create texture and make the overall composition feel more complete.
